The Servicing Department of New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) has an opening for a Sub-Servicing Oversight Specialist. This position performs mortgage default and sub-servicing oversight operations. The position requires the development, implementation and application of various procedures and knowledge of the business unit’s product(s) and application(s) to be performed in accordance with industry regulatory requirements, federal and state laws. Primary responsibilities include Mortgage Loan Servicing functions related to oversight of MFA’s contracted sub-servicer, directly related to delinquency, default, loss mitigation, claim processing, repurchase and disposition for the different types of insured and guaranteed loans. In addition, provide support of MFA’s in-house delinquency reduction efforts of MFA’s serviced portfolio and assist with inbound and out bound calls. These functions are to include high level and constant communication in efforts to manage and resolve the delinquency, default and claims for MFA’s first mortgage and MSR loan portfolio.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or another related field is required. Ten or more years of relevant experience are acceptable in lieu of a degree.
A minimum of 5 years of full-time or equivalent part-time office experience is required where the major duties included loan payment collection, data quality verification, Real Estate Owned property disposition and management, knowledge of legal terminology related to documents and processes of mortgage default and foreclosure.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Proficient with Microsoft Office application specially excel, working with pivot schedules and formulas, Knowledge of legal terminology, documents and processes related to default and foreclosure, Work independently, Ability to read, write and speak Spanish is preferred.
